The Biden Family Investigations – Key Issues
The Biden family was the source of major controversies even before Joe Biden was “elected” the president of the United States.
Since the Justice Department launched an inquiry into Hunter Biden’s taxes and alleged involvement with foreign entities, including China and Ukraine, more information on the potential Biden family’s shady dealings has come to light.
According to the Washington Post, Biden Family’s financial activities have generated numerous suspicious activity reports from various U.S. banks.
Currently, the Biden Family is under investigation for nine violations, including tax evasion, money laundering, and wire fraud, but President Biden has denied multiple times, having no part in the suspicious business dealings.
“I’ve never spoken to my son about his overseas business dealings. Here’s what I know — I know Trump deserves to be investigated,” Biden said in 2019.
However, citing whistleblower disclosures, Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) believes that Biden was neck-deep in the shady business dealings.
Testifying to the “Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government,” Sen. Grassley said that “Joe Biden was aware of Hunter Biden’s business arrangements and may have been involved in some of them.”
With the revelations of Biden’s classified documents, questions have emerged about whether Hunter had access to his father’s secret files.
This relates to more than two dozen documents found at the Penn Biden Center and the president’s home, to which hunter had access.
“Did foreign business partners, through Hunter Biden, have access to these improperly stored documents?” House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY) asked in relation to the Biden Family’s business connections with foreign entities.
Wondering whether the classified documents were involved, Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) believes that Hunter was “selling access to information.”
According to Sen. Johnson, one of Hunter’s emails seems to be based on classified information provided by the State Department to Senators traveling abroad.
Similarly, Sen. Comer wonders how Biden Family earns millions without selling or manufacturing products.
“What is the Biden Family business? They don’t have any assets,” Comer asked. “They don’t manufacture anything. They don’t sell anything.”
The House Oversight Committee chair demands documents about the $140 million Saudi deal settled in 2012 involving James Biden.
Sen. Comer also believes that “President” Biden may be compromised by China, given his unwillingness to stand up to the country.
He requested information from a Serbian politician Vuk Jeremić regarding Biden Family’s involvement with CEFC China Energy Co.
The deal would have likely given “President” Biden, probably referred to as the “Big Guy,” a 10% stake in the business.
Jeremić, who was convicted of bribery and money laundering and was recently released, said he had handed over the documents to investigators.
Given the family’s current political status, having credible and timely investigations could be a challenge.
